PTA ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Annual General Body Meeting was held on 14th May 2026 in the college auditorium. The meeting commenced at 1.30 pm with a warm welcome extended to all the parents, teachers, and students by Mrs. Keerthana Shetty, Lecturer, Department of Hindi. She also introduced the Chief Guest Mrs.Veena T.Shetty, Retd. General Manager, MRPL.

The agenda of the meeting included the presentation of the PTA annual report, discussion on academic performance, student attendance, discipline, and future developmental activities of the institution. Lecturer in charge of PTA, Mrs. Ranjini, HoD, Secretarial Practice presented the audited statement of accounts for the year 2025-26 and Budget for the year 2026-27 which was approved by the members.

The rank holder in B.Sc. Home Science – Ms. Ashiya was honoured by the PTA.

The Chief Guest Mrs. Veena T. Shetty, addressed the gathering and emphasized the vital role of parents and teachers in shaping the future of students. The speaker highlighted the importance of holistic education, which focuses not only on academic excellence but also on the development of values, discipline, communication skills, and social responsibility. The Chief Guest encouraged parents to actively participate in their children's educational journey and maintain regular communication with teachers.

Mrs. Shetty also stressed the need for students to adapt to technological advancements, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a positive attitude towards learning. Appreciating the efforts of the institution in providing quality education, the Chief Guest urged all stakeholders to work together for the overall growth and success of the students. The speech concluded with best wishes for the continued progress of the institution and its students.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Manjula K.T. (Vice President of WNES and Correspondent of BWC) expressed gratitude for the opportunity to address the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the institution in fostering academic excellence and character development among students. She emphasized the significance of a strong partnership between parents, teachers, and students in creating a supportive learning environment.

Madam, highlighted the importance of developing life skills, ethical values, and a sense of responsibility alongside academic achievements. She encouraged students to remain focused on their goals, embrace challenges with confidence, and make effective use of available learning opportunities.

The Principal, Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C. in his presidential address, highlighted the academic achievements, co-curricular activities, and overall progress of the institution during the academic year.

The PTA President, Mrs. Shameena welcomed the new members and emphasized the importance of cooperation between parents and teachers for the holistic development of students.

Parents actively participated in the discussion and shared valuable suggestions regarding academic support, skill development programmes, and student welfare initiatives. The management assured the members that their suggestions would be considered for implementation.

The meeting also witnessed the election/confirmation of PTA office bearers for the forthcoming year Executive Committee. Mrs. Susheela was elected as the new President for the academic year 2026-27. Various plans and activities proposed for the next academic year were discussed and approved.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the former PTA in charge-Mrs. Preetha Bhandary, HoD, English expressing gratitude to the management, parents, teachers, and students for their active participation and support.

Mrs. Raviprabha, NSS Officer and HoD, Political Science hosted the progamme.

The meeting was followed by the progress card distribution.
