REPORT ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY – 2026

The Department of Physical Education in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised a Zumba Fitness Program in connection with National Sports Day on 29th August 2026 at the College Auditorium.

The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting fitness, physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices among students. Ms. Bhavya V. Shetty, Certified Fitness Trainer, served as the resource person and guided the participants through an energetic and engaging Zumba fitness session. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively followed the dance-based fitness routines.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote physical fitness and active lifestyles among students.
  2. To create awareness about the importance of regular physical activity and exercise.
  3. To introduce students to Zumba as an enjoyable and effective form of fitness.
  4. To improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, coordination and body movement.
  5. To reduce stress and promote mental well-being through music and physical activity.
  6. To encourage students to develop healthy and sustainable fitness habits.
  7. To celebrate the spirit of National Sports Day by encouraging active participation in physical activities.

OUTCOMES

  1. Students gained awareness of the importance of regular exercise and physical fitness.
  2. Participants experienced an enjoyable and engaging form of dance-based fitness activity.
  3. The programme helped improve energy levels, coordination, flexibility and physical endurance.
  4. Students were motivated to incorporate regular physical activity into their daily routine.
  5. The session provided an opportunity for students to relieve stress and enhance mental well-being.
  6. The programme encouraged active participation and enthusiasm towards fitness and sports-related activities.

  9. The event successfully promoted the message of “Move, Dance, Stay Fit!” and highlighted the significance of fitness in student life.
