REPORT ON INTERCLASS CHESS COMPETITION 2026–27

The Interclass Chess Competition 2026–27 was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to encourage students to participate in intellectual and sporting activities. The competition provided an opportunity for students from different streams and classes to demonstrate their strategic thinking, concentration and sportsmanship.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote chess as a sport and encourage active student participation.
  2. To develop strategic thinking, concentration, decision-making and problem-solving skills among students.
  3. To provide students with an opportunity to showcase their chess abilities in a competitive environment.
  4. To foster sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and healthy competition among students.
  5. To strengthen the culture of sports and extracurricular participation in the college.

OUTCOMES

  1. Enhanced students’ strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities through competitive chess.
  2. Improved concentration, patience and decision-making skills among participants.
  3. Promoted sportsmanship, discipline and healthy competitive spirit.
  4. Provided students with an opportunity to showcase and develop their chess skills.
  5. Strengthened interaction and healthy competition among students from different classes and streams.
  6. Contributed to the holistic development of students by integrating intellectual and sporting activities.
  7. Motivated students to pursue regular practice and greater participation in chess competitions.
  8. Identified and Selected talented students based on their performance for the Upcoming Chess Competitions.
