One-Day Workshop on BizBloom – Grow Your Business Ideas: Department of Commerce and Business Administration

The Department of Commerce and Business Administration, in association with IQAC, Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru, organized a one-day workshop on “BizBloom – Grow Your Business Ideas” on 19th August 2026 at 1.00 p.m. in the Auditorium. The workshop was organized for the students of Commerce and Business Administration with the objective of encouraging entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and the development of business ideas.

Mrs. Harina J Rao, Entrepreneurist, was the resource person for the workshop. A total of 175 students attended the programme, and all the staff members of the Department of Commerce and Business Administration were present.

The programme commenced with Prof. Vidya Bhat introducing the resource person and highlighting her entrepreneurial experience and expertise. Mrs. Harina J Rao shared valuable insights into identifying business opportunities, nurturing innovative ideas, developing an entrepreneurial mindset, and transforming ideas into viable business ventures. The session was interactive and provided students with practical perspectives on entrepreneurship and business development. She Demonstrated Phenyl making, Soap oil and Soap cake etc.

The workshop was well received by the students and served as an enriching platform for enhancing their entrepreneurial skills and motivating them to explore and develop their own business ideas.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Nethra, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, the college management, IQAC, faculty members, and students for their active participation and cooperation.

Overall, the workshop was successfully conducted and proved to be an informative and inspiring learning experience for the students

Objectives

  2. To equip students with practical knowledge to transform business ideas into viable opportunities.

Outcomes
