Orientation Programme of Folk Culture Club: 2021-22

An Orientation Programme was organised by the Folk Culture Club of Besant Women’s College for the members on 04.12.2021, in order to create an awareness about the tenets of Indian Tradition, Folk Culture, its continuity and Diversity.
A short video was used to begin the Orientation Programme, which addressed importance Indian Folk Culture and Tribal culture, inculcating in the students the different cultural values through various activities and events.
The main aim of this programme was to teach our students to connect to the people around them, to know their neighbours and respect their culture. The convenor of the Club Mrs. Hemalatha briefed the Plan of Action. In the coming weeks. The members, Dr. Satheesh, Assistant Professor from the Department of Economics, Mr Raviraj, Lecturer from the Department of Kannada and Ms. Swathi, Lecturer from the Deprtment of Home Science were also present. Ms. Varsana Shet, the student secretary of the club, proposed vote of thanks and marked the attendance.
The folk Culture Club is about unity in diversity and appreciation with respect to all cultures. It helps to shape and define who the people from various sects following different cultures and traditions.
Encouragement is given by the club to all students to participate in the club activities to learn more about their own cultural influences and of the others. The members are gifted and talented and we acknowledge their contributions without any conditions.
In the Folk Culture Club, students from the different classes meet to get to acquainted with each other and learn about their traditions and Cultures. Several Social activities are designed to promote the knowledge and respect required to create a peaceful world. Club members plan and participate in activities designed to interact with each year
 
Students in this club connect with each other based on the values of dignity, respect for difference, harmony, sensitivity and acceptance.
