Objectives:

  • Understanding AI concept such as machine learning, neural networks and natural language processing.
  • Acquiring the skills to apply AI techniques to solve real-world problems.
  • Fostering interdisciplinary knowledge by integrating AI with other fields like robotic, data science and computer vision.
  • Pursuing AI education to unlock diverse career opportunities in industries such as health care, finance, technology and research.

Mr. Mohan Rao emphasized and highlighted that, AI refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines programmed to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. This includes learning, reasoning, problem-solving, understanding natural language, and perception. AI system can be classified into narrow AI, designed for specific tasks, and the theoretical concept of general AI, which would possess human-like intelligence across a broad range of activities. Machine Learning, a subset of AI, involves algorithms that enable machines to learn from data and improve their performance over time. AI is applied in various fields, such as healthcare, finance, and transportation, shaping the way we interact with technology and the world around us.

AI has become an integral part of everyday life, impacting various aspects:

  • Virtual assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa use AI to understand and respond to voice commands, helping with tasks like setting reminders, answering questions, and controlling smart devices.
  • Streaming services, online retailers, and social media platforms leverage AI to analyze user behavior and provide personalized recommendations, enhancing user experience.
  • AI powers navigation apps for optimal route planning, and in the transportation sector, it’s crucial for autonomous vehicles, making travel safer and more efficient.
  • AI is used in medical imaging for faster and more accurate diagnostics, improving the efficiency of healthcare professionals and enhancing patient care.
  • AI-driven language translation services facilitate communication across different languages, making global interactions more accessible.
  • AI is at the core of smart home systems, automating tasks like adjusting thermostats, managing energy consumption, and controlling security devices.
  • AI-powered chatbots handle customer queries on websites, providing instant responses and improving the efficiency of customer support.

Outcome of the Programme:

  • Students understood the scope of AI.
  • Understood the ethical considerations in AI development, ensuring responsible and unbiased applications.
  • Students cultivated a mindset for continuous learning, staying updated with the latest trends and technologies.
