The Department of Commerce and Business Administration organized a workshop titled "Employability Edge – Building Skills for Workforce Tomorrow" on 31st July 2026 in the college auditorium from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The workshop aimed to equip students with the essential skills and competencies required to meet the demands of the evolving job market.
The programme commenced with the inauguration by lighting the ceremonial lamp by Dr. Deeksha Shetty, the Resource Person, Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C., Principal, and Syed Kahdar, Head and Dean of the Department.
The gathering was warmly welcomed by Prof. Vidya Bhat, who delivered the welcome address and extended greetings to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C., Principal, who emphasized the importance of developing employability skills alongside academic excellence to prepare students for future career opportunities.
The highlight of the workshop was the insightful session by Dr. Deeksha Shetty, the Resource Person. She spoke extensively on the skills required for employment, highlighting the significance of communication skills, critical thinking, adaptability, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, digital literacy, and a positive professional attitude. She encouraged students to continuously upskill themselves and remain adaptable to the changing needs of the workforce. The interactive session enabled students to gain valuable insights into industry expectations and career readiness.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged in the session and benefited from the practical guidance shared by the resource person.
The programme concluded with a Valedictory Session, followed by the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Khairunissa, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource person, management, faculty members, and students for making the workshop a success.
The programme was efficiently compered by Ms. Nethra of III B.Com, whose confident and engaging presentation ensured the smooth flow of the event.
All the faculty members of the department were present throughout the programme and contributed to the successful organization of the workshop.
