VISIT TO WEAVING UNIT: DEPARTMENT OF HOME SCIENCE

Objectives:

• To observe the functioning of handlooms
• To enhance the skills in weaving

Besant Women’s College had organized a visit to Madhu Silks, a weaving unit at Jakribettu, Bantwal, B.C.Road by the department of Home Science on 26/09/2025. I and III BSc.Home Science students got the opportunity to witness the handloom weaving and also gathered information on creating different designs.

Outcome:

• Gained knowledge on handlooms.
• Students gained practical exposure to weaving.
