VISIT TO BUTTERFLY PARK: DEPARTMENT OF HOME SCIENCE

Objectives:

• To experience the conservation of butterfly species.
• To understand the habitat needs.

Besant Women’s College had organized a visit to Butterfly Park at Belvai, Moodbidiri, by the department of Home Science on 25/10/2025. Students had the opportunity to know and spot the varieties of butterflies. They also got to spot different colours, patterns and lifecycle stages of butterflies. The visit was informative one.

Outcome:

• Students observed breeding programmes of butterfly species with habitat restoration process.
• Students understood how plants, water sources and climate supports butterflies.
