The Department of Physical Education, Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru, organised an Inter-Class Tug of War Competition 2025–26 at Mangala Stadium on 10 November 2025. The competition was conducted as per the prepared fixture, with teams representing different classes of the college. A total of 16 class teams participated in the competition, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their physical strength, coordination, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

Objectives

  1. To promote physical fitness, strength, and endurance among students.
  2. To develop teamwork, coordination, and cooperation.
  3. To encourage students to participate actively in sports and physical activities.
  4. To develop discipline, sportsmanship, and a healthy competitive spirit.
  5. To provide students with an opportunity to interact and build team spirit beyond the classroom.
  6. To identify and encourage sporting talent among the students.

Outcome

The Inter-Class Tug of War Competition was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from the students. The event helped improve teamwork, physical strength, coordination, confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship among the participants. It also created a positive sporting atmosphere on campus and encouraged students to take greater interest in physical activities and competitive sports.

Overall, the competition served as an effective platform for promoting fitness, camaraderie, leadership, and healthy competition among the students of Besant Women’s College.
