Introduction
A Bridge Course was conducted for the First Year Bachelor of Commerce (I B.Com) students to facilitate their smooth transition from higher secondary education to undergraduate studies. The course was designed to equip students with essential academic and personal skills required for success in college. The sessions focused on Computer Skills, Learning Activities, Memory Enhancement Techniques, and Discipline, Quiz, E-Commerce and Basic Accountancy.
Objectives
The objectives of the Bridge Course were to:
- Develop basic computer literacy and digital skills.
- Enhance students' learning abilities through interactive activities.
- Introduce effective memory techniques to improve concentration and retention.
- To Familiarize the students with the fundamentals of E-Commerce
Course Highlights
Computer Skills
Students were introduced to the fundamentals of computer operations. The sessions covered:
- Basic computer hardware and software concepts.
- MS Word, MS Excel
- Typing Masters
Contents
Various interactive activities were organized to encourage participation and teamwork. These included:

Student Participation
The Bridge Course witnessed enthusiastic participation from the I B.Com & BBA students. Students actively engaged in the practical sessions, group activities, and discussions. The interactive nature of the programme encouraged confidence, communication, and collaborative learning.
Outcomes
- Students developed basic computer skills, including the use of MS Office applications, internet browsing, and email communication for academic purposes.
- Students became more familiar with the accounting knowledge
- Interactive activities enhanced communication skills, teamwork, leadership qualities, and self-confidence.
- Students learned memory enhancement techniques such as mind mapping, mnemonics, active recall, and time management, which improved their learning and retention abilities.
