Orientation Programme for the Academic year 2021-22: Dept. PG Studies in Commerce (M.Com) & PG Studies in FSN (M.Sc)

The department of PG Studies in Commerce, Food Science and Nutrition, Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru had organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted  post graduate students  at M.Com Seminar Hall on 17th January 2022. The main aim of the programme was to make students aware of the academic aspects of the courses, the rules and regulations of the college.
The programme  began with invoking the blessings of Almighty followed by  Ms. Anupa Baliga, HOD, Department of PG Studies in Commerce welcoming the gathering.  Dr. Satish Kumar Shetty. P., college principal, Heads of the departments and P.G. Council members inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
The Principal, Dr. Satish Kumar Shetty. P addressed and motivated all students  to pursue their dreams and use the enormous facilities provided by the college.
Ms. Nireeksha, Assistant Professor, Mrs. Shweta Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of P.G Studies in Food Science and Nutrition; Mrs. Jyotsna Rajesh, Assistant Professor and Dr. Raghvendra, Department of P.G. Studies in Commerce briefed the students about the academic design, career opportunities available and various activities done by the respective  post graduate department for the welfare of the students and community.
Further, Mr. Lokraj, Librarian, In-charge of P.G. Library, furnished details regarding the facilities that can be availed in the Library.
After the briefing about the departments, the students holding important posts in PG council, Gender Equity club and Rotrac club enlightened the students regarding their roles and responsibilities.
MS. Shahada Firhath M.A., Assistant Professor, Department of P.G. Studies in Food Science and Nutrition compered the programme.
The programme was concluded with deliverance of vote of thanks by Mrs. Indira Badya, HOD, Department of P.G. Studies in Food Science and Nutrition.
