The department of Secretarial Practice organised Adolescent Diet and Nutrition Programme – Nourish to Flourish on April 1st 2026, in AV Room. Mrs. Prithvi M., Lecturer, Department of Home Science, Besant Women’s College was the resource person. Mrs. Ranjini M. HoD, Secretarial Practice, welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person. Principal, Dr. Praveen Kumar K. C. presided over the programme.

Prize distribution for the winners of ‘Word Search Puzzle Competition’ was done by the Principal, Mrs. Vidya Bhat, Mrs. Gayathree and Mrs. Shaila Kamath. Mrs. Chanchalakshi, Department of Commerce and Business Administration, proposed Vote of Thanks. Ms. Priyanka of II BA hosted the programme.

Objectives:

  1. To create awareness about the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet dirung adolescence and early adulthood.
  2. To educate students on essential nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitmains and minerals) and their role in maintaining health.
  3. To encourage lifestyle changes
  4. To address nutritional deficiencies such as anemia, obesity and malnutrition among students.

Outcomes:

  1. Students gained a better knowledge of nutrition
  2. Students gained knowledge of the benefit of reduction in junk food consumption and increased intake of healthy, home-based or balanced meals.
  3. Students learnt adoption of health lifestyle practices.
