Guest lecture on ‘Career Opportunity in Private Banks’: Career Guidance Cell

The Career Guidance Cell of Besant Women’s College organized a guest lecture on ‘Career Opportunity in Private Banks’ for the final year students on 7th Nov 2023. Around 81 students attended this programme. Resource person of the programme is Mr. Mohammed Amjed Ali from South and East Head IPB

Objectives:

  • Provide students with comprehensive information about the diverse career paths available within the banking industry, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the sector.
  • Ignite interest and enthusiasm among students by showcasing the dynamic and evolving nature of the banking sector, and the potential for impactful and rewarding careers.
  • Assist students in exploring and identifying specific roles that align with their skills, interest, and aspirations within the banking field.
  • Offer insights into the key skills and competencies required for success in various banking positions, guiding students on how to develop and showcase these skills.
  • Bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications by illustrating how academic studies can be directly applied to real-world scenarios within the banking industry.

Mr.Mohammed Amjed Ali emphasized The banking sector offers a wide array of career opportunities spanning various roles and functions. He also emphasized some of the key position that is Bank Teller, Loan Officer, Financial Analyst. Risk Analyst, Branch manager, Investment Banker, Credit Analyst, Financial Planner/Advisor, Operations Manager, IT Specialist in Banking and Compliance Officer. With roles ranging from customer service to finance, technology, and management, the banking sector provides diverse opportunities for individuals with various skills and interest. These roles often require a strong financial background, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand and address the unique financial needs of high-net-worth clients. A combination of education, relevant certifications and experience in the financial industry contributes to success in private banking careers.
