Awareness program on "Food Safety and Hygiene": Dept. of FND-2021

 World food safety dayis celebrated on 7th June every year, which aims to draw attention and inspireaction to help prevent, detect and manage food borne risks contributing to foodsecurity, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, markets access,tourism and sustainable development. This year's theme 'safe food today for ahealthy tomorrow' stresses that production and consumption of safe food hasimmediate and long term benefits for people, the planet and the overalleconomy.

Based on the theme, an awareness program was conducted on22nd June 2021. Mr. Prem Chandra sharma, a senior food technologist and FoSTaC trainer from FSSAI, India was theresource person. He spoke on the mishandling that usually happens in the foodindustry and the best ways to avoid it. Basic training on food handling methodsat household level were also discussed during this webinar. A total of 90students had participated through Google meet platform.
