“Research methodology for the students” -R&D Cell

Research and Development  Cell has  organised a programme on “Research methodology for the students” on 12.10.2018. Dr. Sudha K, convenor of the Cell welcomed  the resource person Prof. Shirley Rani, HOD, Dept. of Sociology and Student Secretary Ms. Anjali Vijay of Final B.Com (2) Batch  compered  the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.

Prof. Shirly Rani has  outlined the  skeletal frame work of  the process of research methodology encompassing  defining problems, collecting data, organizing, evaluating the data, making decisions, suggesting solutions, reaching conclusions and testing the conclusions. She explained them from the lens of social scientists with anecdotes based on research experiences and experiential learning in a simple and lucid manner that can be easily comprehended by the students. She elucidated how to select a topic of investigation and  do the field work with systematic planning. The main purpose of the talk is to encourage the students to work on simple topics  that give them the profound  research experience. All the R&D Cell students immensely benefitted from the programme  igniting them to do social science research reflected in their affirmative feedback. R&D_2018_New (1).jpg
