Caveat Emptor: Not all information available on Wikipedia is Authentic. Hence, the information can be edited or new authentic information can be added. This is what the workshop programme was aimed with.
The resource persons gave an insight into Wikipedia, Wikimedia and Wikihow. They demonstrated practically, the methods that can be used to create new information, or modify the existing information as per the requirements, on the Wikipedia.
The participants created their email ID and logged in through this ID. After this the editing of information on Wikimedia was a child’s play.
The programme was a success as found from their feedbacks.
All the students of BCA accompanied by their staff members attended the Workshop and benefitted from it. The staff members included, Mr. Gopalkrishna A. Raikar, College Academic Advisor (CAA), HoD - BCA Ms. Naseera S, Ms. Siby M A, Ms. Keerthilakshmi T S, Ms. Likhitha, and Mr. Ravinder Murthy, who held the reins of Technical Support.
