Valedictory programme of Tailoring Certificate Course and distribution of certificates: Innovation Club

Innovation Club had organised Tailoring Certificate course at ‘Besant Skill Development Centre’ for students from 21-12-2021 to 24-3-2022 and for other ladies from 5-2-2022 to 24-3-2022. 21 students and 5 other ladies successfully completed this course. Valedictory programme was conducted in the AV Room on 25th March 2022. Mrs. Harina Rao, Chairperson, Small Scale Industries Association, Women’s Wing, Yeyyadi, Mangaluru was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion she said, students should make best use of the time, by participating in different skill development programmes. They should try to earn while learning.

Dr. Manjula K.T., the Correspondent of Besant Women’s College and Vice President of WNES, spoke about women empowerment and said that when vocational training becomes a hobby, it gives pleasure. She appreciated the Innovation Club for taking initiative of social responsibility by conducting certificate course on tailoring not only to our own students but also to the outside ladies from the community.

The Principal, Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty P. presided over the function, and congratulated the club and the recipients of certificates for successfully completing the course. He said the Indian fabric, fashion and stitching is popular since ancient times. It is very important for all the ladies to learn stitching.

Tailoring Instructors Mr. Joseph K.P. and Mrs. Ambujakshi sharing their experiences said that the learnt skill should be utilized whenever there is a need. Even if the students get job the skills like tailoring will not go waste. Mrs. Shreeja thanked the instructors, management and the organisers for giving opportunity to learn tailoring. Ms. Sharishma D’souza of III BA presenting feedback about this course said that they got training not only on tailoring but also on concentration, time management, dedication and hard work. The garments stitched during the training class were displayed.

The convener of Innovation Club Mrs. Ranjini welcomed the gathering. The member of the club Mrs. Naseera proposed vote of thanks. Student Secretary, Ms. Pooja Naik read out the names of the recipients of certificates. Ms. Princy Mary compered the programme.
