Peer Level Learning : Dept. of PG Studies in Commerce
With the intention of making students understand the framework of Research paper presentation effectively, Department of PG Studies in Commerce held peer level learning for the students of M. Com Previous on 20th July, 2023. Ms. Varshini and Ms. Mubashira Bano of M. Com Final, who brought laurels to the department by bagging Second place at the State Level Intercollegiate paper presentation competition for their paper titled “MAN MADE BRAIN: Reflection on whether Chat GPT is a blessing or a curse” were the speakers of the session.
The program was divided into two segments. In the first segment, the speakers highlighted various aspects to be covered in the Research paper. They, in detail explained about choosing a topic of our interest and how to dwell into the topic deeper by finding the research gap through literature review. Setting of objectives being the next step followed by setting hypothesis, framing questionnaire, data collection. In the second segment, the speakers emphasized on various sources one can find research paper, writing abstract, bibliography style, ethics in writing a research paper and plagiarism test.
The Peer level learning was concluded with a competition. Students were divided into groups comprising of 3 students each. The groups were given topics and were required to come up with appropriate title and objective in connection with the given topic. All the participants participated enthusiastically and the prize for best title was also awarded to the deserving group.
