Outreach Programme at Naringana Panchayath -2019
The outreachcell of Besant Women’s College, Mangalore had organized a camp on “Testing of Heamoglobinfor the residents of Naringana Panchayath recently.
ThePresident of Naringana Panchayath Mr. Ismail Meenamkodi inaugurated theprogramme. In his inaugural address he said that because of change in theeating habits, the present generation is facing problems like anemia. If theHemoglobin count is below normal it decreases immunity level, he added. He also congratulated Besant Women’s Collegefor organizing such a wonderful community service oriented programme.
PDO ofNaringana Panchayath Mrs. Rajani D highlighted on the importance of theprogramme. Asha worker Mrs. Chandrakala, ANM Mrs. Shalini and Anganwady workerMrs. Asha were present.
Correspondentof Besant Women’s College Sri. K. Devanand Pai and Principal Dr. Sathish KumarShetty P., wished the programme a success.
Under theguidance of Prof. Krishnananda Shenoy and Prof. Hemalatha the programme wasconducted smoothly.
Dr. Divya inher introductory talk created awareness among the public on the importance ofhaemoglobin.
Prof. Girish,Prof. Chaithra and Prof. Indira were also present.
Studentsfrom UG and PG of Besant Women’s College conducted the counseling whichincluded height, weight, BMI, Food habits and testing of haemoglobin counts.Students also suggested the foods to be included for the ladies who are withlow haemoglobin count. Convenor of Outreach Cell Prof. Gayathree organized the programme.
