“Know Your Computer Hardware” - Dept. of DP

Hardware of a Computer is the heart and soul. You may have the most sophisticated Software but if you do not have the Supporting Hardware the software becomes Useless. Hence it becomes important for everyone using Computers to have a little bit of Hardware knowledge also.

This was the theme of the programme “Know – Your Computer Hardware” or “The Hardware know-how” a one day workshop conducted by the Department of Data Processing on August 31, 2018.

Mr. Ravinder Murthy and Mr. Rithesh Kumar both from the department of Computer Science were roped in as Resource Persons.

Every part of the Computer along with its Working was well explained by the resource persons. To make the understanding clear a video Clip on the Computer Hardware was also shown.

Students of 1st and 2nd year BA – Data Processing students participated in the programme. It was well taken by the students. Now the students are in a position to identify the different components of the Computer. They could apply this knowledge to comprehend the theoretical aspects much more clearly. They are now, with guidance, able to place the essential components in the computer cabinet. The feedback showed that they wanted a programme of this sort which could enhance their understanding of the theory which they are learning.
