Investor Awareness Programme: Department of Commerce and Business Administration

The Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Besant Women's College, Mangalore, in collaboration with Mangalore University Commerce Teachers Association, hosted an insightful Investor Awareness Programme. The initiative was designed to educate and guide attendees on the fundamentals and advanced principles of investment.

Prof. Rajashekar Hebbar, the Administrative Officer of Besant Group of Institutions, graced the occasion as a Chief Guest and shared his insights on the importance of financial literacy in today's fast-paced world. The event was presided over by Shri. Manel Annappa Nayak, the President of Women's National Education Society, who emphasized the necessity of financial awareness for a prosperous future.

Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C, the Principal of Besant Women's College, greeted all the attendees with a warm welcome, highlighting the significance of the event. Ms. Reshma, the Coordinator of the Programme, ensured the smooth flow of the event's proceedings. Concluding the formal introductions, Mr. S. Syed Kahdar, the Dean and HoD of Commerce, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to everyone present.

The core of the programme comprised three enlightening technical sessions:

  1. **Financial Literacy** by Mr. Naveen Rego: This session underscored the importance of understanding financial terminologies and instruments, helping attendees navigate the complex world of finance.
  2. **Back to Basics** by Mr. Leo Amal: Focusing on foundational investment principles, Mr. Amal encouraged attendees to grasp fundamental concepts to devise effective investment strategies.
  3. **Personal Financial Planning** by Ms. Sapna Shenoy: An eye-opener, this session shed light on the intricacies of personal finance and the steps required to ensure a secure financial future.

The attendance of 504 students stands as a testament to the college's dedication and commitment to enhancing its students' financial awareness and capabilities.
