'INSPIRE INCLUSION' - interactive session on the occasion of Women's Day
The Students Council of Besant Women's College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, has organized- Inspire Inclusion, an interactive guest lecturing session on 13th March 2024. The guest speaker, Dr. Ritu Anand, former Chief Leadership and Diversity Officer, Tata Consultancy Services, Mumbai, motivated students to excel in their futures by being true to their dreams. Dr. Ritu Anand talked about her own experiences and the challenges she faced while working in the corporate sector. When asked about her definition of success, she mainly emphasized the importance of developing soft skills to be successful in today's competitive world: "Don't underestimate the power of grooming and presentation. Be flexible, be honest, and be presentable. That is the key to success." she added.
The interactive session allowed students from various streams to take an active part in the discussion with the guest lecturer. During the interactive session, the speaker, Dr Ritu Anand, stressed the importance of using more gender-agnostic terminologies. She felt that women in our century must do everything in their capacity to free themselves from socially constructed gender images.
The college correspondent, Dr. Manjula K.T., florally welcomed the guest speaker.
Ms. Ravi Prabha from the Department of Political Science conducted the felicitation ceremony, during which athletics achievers were honored.
Ms Shreya, the president of the Union Council, welcomed the gathering. Ms. Pranamya from II BSc Home Science introduced the guests. Fathima Reem from Final Year B.com compered the whole proceedings. Ms. Deeksha from II BBA proposed a vote of thanks.
The President of the Women National Education Society and Besant group of institutions, Mr. Annapa Nayak, The Mentor of Besant Institution, Mr. Leeladhar, the correspondent of Besant Women's College, Dr. Manjula K.T., the Administrative officer, Prof Rajshekar Hebbar, the principal of Besant Women's Degree College, Dr Praveen Kumar K C, Student Welfare officer Ms Shobita T S from the dept. of Commerce, the NAAC Coordinator, Dr Parusharam Malage, and the IQAC coordinator, Dr Satisha, were present. All the teaching and administrative staff, as well as the students from various streams, attended the program.
