OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY:
● Raise awareness about World Food Day and the theme for 2024 is "Right to foods for a better life and a better future”
● To encourage critical thinking
● Develop communication skills
OUTCOME OF THE ACTIVITY:
"How can I incorporate sustainable food practices in my daily life?" was the topic of the essay writing competition held in connection with World Food Day 2024, with the theme "Right to foods for a better life and a better future " Its goal was to encourage creative solutions and increase participants' awareness of the world's food problems.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY:
On November 22, 2024, 14 students from the III B.Sc. FND participated the essay writing competition, showcasing their original ideas and profound understanding of food-related topics. One hour was allotted for the competition. Mr. Girish, an Assistant professor in the English department, and Ms. Vijitha, an HOD in the Journalism department at Besant Women's College, evaluated the essays.
Results of the competition were as follows:
1st Prize: Aysha Shafa
2nd Prize: Aysha Suhaima from III B.Sc FND.
