Bequest - 2023 ' A Quest for the Best: Nature Nirvana, Innovision, Scientia 2.0
Besant Women's College conducted the inter-collegiate fest Bequest 2023.Mangaluru, June 8 'Bequest-2023', a one-day inter-collegiate fest, was held at Besant Women's College on June 8, 2023.Earlier in the morning, the event began with the invocation, and all the dignitaries who gathered at the college auditorium inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. Speaking on occasion, the program's chief guest Dr. Zeena D'Souza, HoD of Department of Commerce St, Aloysius college said the fest's Nature-Nirvana theme is very apt as it reflects how important it is for the current generation to recognize the effects of Climate Change so that they would act responsibly to preserve nature and its resources for the future generation. The college's principal, Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty, assured all the participants gathered from various colleges would cherish the Bequest's memories later. Assistant Secretary of WNES Dr. Arjun Nayak addressed the gathering and said the students must excel in academics and cultural activities, and he wished all the participants to give their best performance in the Bequest events. The Secretary of WNES, Mr. Jeevan Das, delivered his presidential address. He emphasized that the purpose of education is to create a scientific temper in students. "There are a lot of differences between what we learn in college and what happens in real life. Therefore the teachers must prepare the students well so that later in their life, they can pragmatically handle the complex issues they might encounter in their future", Mr. Jeevn Das added and wished well to all participants. The audience was enthralled by the dance performance of Besant Women's college students soon after the formal proceedings.
At the end of the dance performance, the trophies were unveiled, much to the participants' excitement. Ms. Deepali from III B. A., who compered the formal ceremony, thanked Dr. Manjula K.T., the correspondent of Besant Women's Degree College, and Mr. Manel Annappa Nayak in their absentia for all the constant support and guidance. At the end of the inauguration ceremony, the trophies for Bequest, Sciencia( depart of Science) and Innovision (P.G. Fest) were unraveled. The convenor of the program, the student wellfare officer Ms. Meera Edna Coehlo, was also present on the dais. Ms. Neha UG, the student union president, introduced the chief guest. P.G. Student union president proposed the vote of thanks.
Valedictory Event
University College Hampana Katta emerged overall champions and Besant Evening college Mangalore, the runners-up at Bequest 2023, a one-day intercollegiate fest organized by Besant Women's College, while SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore and Kannachur Institute of Management Deralakatte, have emerged as winners and runners, respectively, at the Innovision – 2023 P.G. Fest. Dr. NSAM, first Grade college Nitte bagged the Scientist 2.0 Trophy (dept of science). Yenepoya Institute of Arts and Science College Balmatta emerged as the runners up.
The one-day fest ended with the award ceremony, the core part of the fest.Speaking on the occasion the cheif guest for the Bequest Valedictory Event Ms Nandini Raghuchandra Rtn PHF said that students have been given a great opportunity here to showcase their talents. Dr. Arjun Nayak Assistant Secretary in his presidential address congratulated all the participants who have taken part in the event. Over all twenty one teams took part in different events in the UG-PG fest. All participants received certificates at the valedictory function.
