15th National Voters' Day Celebration: SVEEP

Ms. Roopathi M., Convener of the College SVEEP Committee, along with 20 students, actively participated in the Voters' Pledge Taking Programme held as part of the 15th National Voters' Day celebration. The event took place at Kudmal Ranga Rao Purabhavana, Mangalore, and was organized by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration and District Legal Services Authority. The programme aimed to promote awareness about the importance of voting and to encourage youth participation in the democratic process. Participants took the Voters' Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to uphold democratic values. The event served as a valuable learning experience for the students, inspiring them to become responsible and informed voters.

Objectives:

The primary objectives of the programme were to raise awareness about the importance of voting, foster a sense of civic responsibility among youth, and encourage active participation in the democratic process. It also aimed to instill the values of informed, ethical, and responsible voting among first-time and future voters.

Outcome:

The programme successfully inspired students to value their right to vote and participate meaningfully in the electoral process. By taking the Voters' Pledge, participants reaffirmed their commitment to democratic principles and gained a deeper understanding of their role as responsible citizens in a democracy.
