Nature of the Activity: Training on preparation of Cloth & Paper bags and distributing the same to the residents of Urva, Mangaluru area
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES:
- Create an awareness on environmental protection by using bags made of cloth and papers
PROGRAMME OUTCOMES:
- Created Environmental Sensitization among the residents of Urva, Mangaluru
- PAPER BAG IS WIDELY RECYCLABLE AND 100 % BIODEGRADABLE
- COTTON BAGS CAN BE REUSED
- COTTON BAGS ARE ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY
- Students learnt the art of Preparing bags out of cloth and paper
As a part of Green Initiative programme of the Department of Secretarial Practice, Training in Cloth and Paper Bag Making was provided to our college students on Saturday 21st July at 10.00 am in the college Auditorium. This was to bring about an awareness to ban use of the plastic bags and non-biodegradable bags to prevent environment pollution. Ms. Sharada Rai Craft TEACHER, Infant Jesus English Medium School , Ms. Amrutha Shetty, Teacher of Fine arts, Ramakrishna English Medium school and Ms. Ranjini Prabhu , Craft teacher, canara high school, Dongerkery were invited as resource persons to impart training to our students in making paper bags. As a part of green initiative on July 27th, 2018, the bags prepared by the students numbering 200 were distributed to the residents of Urva, Mangaluru.
This programme was conducted in association with Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Devt, Projects, Mangalore, The Principal, Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Hemalatha, HoD, Secretarial Practice proposed vote of thanks. Mrs. Ranjini, Mrs Vidya Bhat and Mrs Shaila Kamath were also present.
