Students' Union Council Inauguration : 2018-2019

Inthe male dominant society it is woman’s confidence and self-recognition thatstands by her while she is struggling through her challenges.  A woman who has not lost her sense ofidentity will recognize her own talents and nurtures them. Many a times unlessshe asks for opportunity she doesn’t get. Hence college girls must make use ofthe chances given to them to develop their potentialities into accomplishments,said social worker, LIONS Past District Governor  Kavitha S. Shastri. She was addressing thestudents and staff of Besant Women’s College during the inauguration ofStudents’ Council for this year. To be successful she said, students must payattention to maintain good health, positive attitude and humility,  for these three ensure one’s personal andsocial well being.

Correspondent    K. Devananda Pai,  in his presidential address said, selflessservice should be the purpose of taking on leadership;  becoming a leader means preparing to serve.The student leaders pave a way to become future state and national level leaders.

 Student Union office bearers took oath on theoccasion.  Nisha asPresident, Varsha Pawar as Vice President, Vaishnavi  as Secretary and Shilpa as Joint Secretary weresworn in respectively. Principal Dr. Sathish KumarShetty P., administered the oath. 

Prof.Krishnananda Shenoy P., Dean. Humanities,  Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C. Dean,, Dept. ofCommerce, Gopalakrishna Raiker, Dean, Dept. of Science and Dr. Meenakshi K.,Dean, Language Departments congratulated the new students’ council. Student WelfareOfficer Prof. Saritha pinned badges to the new prefects and office bearers.  Students Nouziya and Archana compeered.Cultural programmes followed.
