Report on Khottiga Making and Flower Garland Preparation Session
The Folk Culture Club organized an interactive session on Khottiga making and flower garland preparation on 14th March at 12:30 PM in Room No. F10. The objective of the session was to introduce students to traditional folk practices and to promote appreciation for indigenous art forms through hands-on learning.
The session was conducted by Ms. Chitra Kini, who served as the resource person for the program. She demonstrated the techniques involved in making Khottiga and preparing flower garlands, explaining their cultural significance and traditional usage in various ceremonies and celebrations.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 10 staff members and 30 students. Participants actively engaged in the activities and showed great interest in learning these traditional crafts. The hands-on experience enabled students to understand the skill, creativity, and cultural value associated with these folk art forms.
The session was organized under the guidance of Ms. Vidya Bhat, Convenor of the Folk Culture Club, who coordinated the program to encourage students to explore and preserve traditional cultural practices.
