Outreach Programme
The Outreach Cell of Besant Women’s College had organized“Social Responsibility and Community Service” “Prerana” a training on Self employability skills to the inmates of“LINK” Integrated Rehabilitation center for Addicts, Bajal,Mangalore onWednesday September 6th 2017.
The selected students were trained on the following areas –
-Preparation of Soap, Phenyl, and Detergent powder, preparingHandmade Jewellary items and the technique of dyeing the cloth that is Tie andDye and bandhane Mrs.Harina Rao was the Trainer for Preparation of Soap,detergent Powder and Phenyl. Mrs.LydiaLobo was the Chief Guest theadministrator of Link Integrated Rehabilitation center for addicts, Bajal, Mangaluru. She said to make use of opportunity to theinmates of Link another ladies who have gathered for training.
Sri.Devananda Pai, Correspondent, B.W.C was present for theprogramame. Dr.Sathish Kumar Shetty, Principal, B.W.C gave welcome speech.
The convenor of outreach cell of BWC, 2017-18, Mrs.GayathreeK, Dept.of Home Science organized the programme.
The college president Kavyashree and secretary of outreach cell Haleema were present. All the students of our college enthusiasticallyparticipated in the training programme. Ms.Shobitha, a member of outreach cell was also present, Mrs.Hemalathaand Mrs.Vidya Bhat, Department of Secretarial Practice also attended thetraining programme.
The students felt very happy during the interaction aftertraining listening to the feedback.
One participant said that he will go home and prepare phenyland give it to his wife.
We also felt very happy when they took the address of theconcerned shop where all the ingredients are available
One more person was learning curiously regarding preparation ofearing and the bangle so that he can gift to his daughter
All the inmates of LINK and the other nearby ladies who haveparticipated in the programe felt that it was very useful one.
