Orientation programme on UPSC Civil Services: Career Guidance Cell
The Career Guidance Cell in association with the IQAC and Creative Learning System (CLS), organized an orientation programme on UPSC Civil Services on 3rd September 2024. The event was held in the college auditorium and was attended by approximately 150 students interested in pursuing a career in civil services.
The program commenced at 2:15 PM with an introductory address by the Principal, *Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C., who emphasized the importance of civil services as a career choice and encouraged students to take advantage of the resources provided by the college to prepare for these examinations.
The orientation session featured two esteemed resource persons:
- Mr. Sobhan George Abraham, a representative from Shankar IAS Academy, Chennai, who provided insights into the structure of the UPSC Civil Services Examination and shared strategies for effective preparation.
- Mr. Avinash Kumar, Former Assistant Commandant (CRPF), who discussed the significance of public service and shared his experiences in the field, inspiring students to consider a career in civil services.
Ms. Chaitra, a student coordinator from III B.Com, played a pivotal role in organizing the event, ensuring smooth coordination between the various departments and attendees.
The event was convened by Ms. Nayana provided their guidance and support throughout the planning and execution of the program.
The session concluded with a Question and Answer segment, where students interacted with the resource persons, gaining valuable insights and advice on preparing for the UPSC exams. The event was well-received by the students, many of whom expressed their interest in pursuing civil services as a career.
The program was a success, providing students with essential information and motivation to pursue their ambitions in the field of civil services.
