One-day Leadership Development Programme - Empowering Women Leaders: HRD Cell

Objective of the Programme

The HRD Cell organized a one-day leadership development programme aimed at empowering Student Council members with essential leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and collaborative strategies to effectively serve their peers and contribute to institutional growth.

Inaugural Address

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the esteemed dignitaries, symbolizing the beginning of a new journey. This was followed by a warm welcome speech delivered by Ms. Sangeetha Shet, Secretary of the HRD Cell.

Session 1: Understanding Leadership

The first session was led by Ms.Seema Bangera, Senior Technology Specialist, Senior Principal Technology Specialist, McDermott International Ltd, a proud B.Com alumnus of the college and former Student President.

The session explored the fundamentals of leadership, types of leadership styles, and the role of self-awareness in leading others .Participants were guided to articulate a shared vision for their council and set SMART goals for the academic year.


Session 2: Communication and Team Building

The second session was led by Mr. Tushar K, Personality Development Trainer.
Through interactive activities and role-play, students learned the importance of active listening, assertive communication, and building trust within teams.

Real-life scenarios were used to help students practice resolving conflicts constructively and making ethical decisions under pressure.

Feedback and Reflections

The HRD Cell’s initiative proved to be a transformative experience for the Student Council, laying a strong foundation for proactive, empathetic, and visionary leadership. The programme reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leaders who can inspire change and uphold values.
