National Youth Day: Youth Red Cross
Indian redcross society Dakshina Kannada District Branch, organized a poignant tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his 162nd birth anniversary at Tree Park, Tannirbhavi, Mangalore. This event, commemorated as National Youth Day 2024, aimed to celebrate the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, particularly emphasizing youth empowerment and social service. Besant Women’s College actively participated in the event, showcasing exemplary dedication to humanitarian causes through its Youth Red Cross initiatives. The college’s efforts were duly recognized during the ceremony: Best Youth Red Cross Unit Award: Besant Women’s College was honored with the prestigious award for the Best Youth Red Cross Unit, highlighting the college’s commitment to community service and humanitarian efforts. Best Youth Red Cross Programme Officer Award: Ms. Deekshitha T.S., service as the Programme Officer, was acknowledged for her outstanding leadership and contribution to fostering a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility among the youth
