Introduction:
On October 8, 2024, the Department of Computer Applications, Besant Women's College hosted a workshop titled "Mind Mapping Insights- Discover Your Inner World." The event aimed to equip students with techniques to enhance their subconscious awareness and achieve personal success.
Inauguration Session:
The inauguration of the program commenced at 1:00 PM, with the Head of the Department, Mr Gopala Krishna Raikar, welcoming the resource person, Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim. He highlighted the importance of the workshop in fostering personal growth among students. The program was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge.
Hosting the Program:
Ms. Raqeeba Fatin, a final-year BCA student, skillfully hosted the program, guiding participants through the schedule and engaging them with insightful introductions. Her enthusiasm and poise contributed to a positive atmosphere throughout the event.
Participation:
All faculty members of the BCA department were present, demonstrating their support for the initiative and their commitment to enhancing students' learning experiences.
Overview of the Session:
Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim led the workshop, focusing various aspects starting from concepts of conscious & subconscious mind, goal setting, energising brain, auto suggestions, scientific studying techniques, energising song and many more to synergise the experience of the students.
Dr Surfraz exhibited the effects of Auto Suggestion by demonstrating activities such as expansion/ compression of fingers and formation of human steel bridge.
Students witnessed the Subconscious reflection activity using chain.
- Auto-suggestion Activities:
A. Expansion and Compression of Fingers:
Objective: This activity aimed to enhance focus, promote relaxation, and strengthen the connection between the mind and body.
B. Formation of Human Steel Bridge:
Objective: This activity emphasized the importance of auto suggestions and its effect on body. The student’s body was transformed to a steel bridge in a short time which clearly indicated that the commands we give to our subconscious mind will surely work.
Following the exercise, Dr. Hasim facilitated a discussion where students shared their feelings about the experience and how it relates to teamwork in their academic and personal lives.
- Subconscious Reflections Through Chain:
Objective: To help students understand that the thoughts that we create in our mind will have an impact on non living objects too.
Students were encouraged to visualize not only the end result but also the process, envisioning each step they needed to take to reach their desired outcome.
Feedback and Conclusion:
The session concluded with a lively Q&A segment, where students shared their insights and expressed gratitude for the valuable techniques learned. Many participants remarked on the practical applications of the techniques discussed and their potential for fostering a positive mindset.
