Library Resource Familiarization: Department of Commerce and Business Administration

A Library Resource Familiarization Programme was organized by the department on 20th, 21st, and 24th March 2025 in the library for BBA and B.Com students. This programme aimed to introduce students to the wide range of library resources and tools available for enhancing their academic work and research.

Objectives:

  • To familiarize students with the library's digital and physical resources, including online databases, e-books, journals, and research materials.
  • To help students develop effective research skills and learn how to access and utilize various library resources for assignments, projects, and exams.
  • To promote self-directed learning by encouraging students to independently explore the library's offerings.

Outcome:

  • Students gained a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively use library resources, including accessing online journals, books, and databases relevant to their academic courses.
  • The programme enhanced students' ability to search for, evaluate, and apply information in their studies, fostering stronger research and critical thinking skills.
  • A significant increase in student confidence in using the library's resources for assignments, research, and exam preparation was observed.
  • Students became more independent in their learning journey, utilizing the library as an essential academic tool.

The sessions saw active participation from the students, with all department staff present to guide and assist throughout the event. This initiative helped lay a solid foundation for students to enhance their academic performance through better resource utilization.
