Introduction to the Research and Development Cell:

The Research and Development (R&D) Cell of Besant Women’s College is committed to fostering a research-oriented environment among students and faculty. The R&D Cell encourages students to explore the realm of academic research, empowering them with the tools and knowledge to embark on research projects that contribute to societal development and academic excellence. Through a variety of initiatives, including seminars, workshops, and talks, the R&D Cell works toward igniting a passion for research, helping students gain insights into various research methodologies and techniques.

Objective of the Talk:

The objective of the talk, titled "Introduction to Fundamentals of Research", was to familiarize the participants with the basics of research, its importance, and its application in both academic and professional contexts. The session aimed to:

  • Provide an understanding of the core concepts of research, including the research process, methodology, and ethical considerations.

The Research and Development Cell, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Besant Women’s College, organized a talk on "Introduction to Fundamentals of Research" on 29th November 2024 at 2:30 PM in the M.Com Seminar Hall.

The session was led by Dr. Sathisha K., Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, as the resource person. Dr. Sathisha provided a comprehensive overview of research, emphasizing its relevance in academics and professional growth. Key highlights of his talk included:

  • The event was attended by 24 students from different streams, including BA, BCom, BBA, BSc, and Home Science. Their participation demonstrated a keen interest in understanding research methodologies and applying them to their respective fields of study.
  • The event began with a welcome address by Ms. Likhitha L.K., the Student Secretary of the Research and Development Cell, who warmly welcomed the speaker, faculty, and participants. She highlighted the significance of research in shaping academic careers and encouraged students to explore research opportunities.
