International Yoga Day: Department of Physical Education
The celebration of the 10th International Day of Yoga was a great success, fulfilling its objectives of spreading awareness about yoga and its immense benefits. The department of physical education in association with IQAC, organized the 10th International Day of Yoga on 21/06/2024 at College Auditorium for the students and lectures. The session began with a welcome note by the Roopathi.M, Physical Education Director, followed by insights from Mr. Deepak Bhat on the science of yoga. He led a practice session including:
- Warm-up exercises.
- Surya Namaskara
- Pranayama (Breathing Techniques)
- Mediation and Mindfulness
Objectives:
The event aimed to raise awareness about yoga's physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. It encouraged a healthy lifestyle, taught basic yoga practices, and highlighted yoga's role in stress management.
Outcome:
- Enhanced awareness among participants about the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life.
- Improved understanding of core yoga practices and their benefits on physical and mental health.
- Increased participation and enthusiasm among students and staff towards regular yoga practice.
