International Women's Day 2019 - Dept. of Sociology

Department of Sociologyorganised the International Women's Day on 8th March 2019. Professor Shirly Rani,HoD welcomed the gathering. A talk was organised on the women's day theme'Better the Balance, Better the World’. Dr Shalini Aiyappa, HoD, Psychology, St.Aloysius College was the Resource person. Shri. K.Devananda Pai  SecretaryWNES,and correspondent  Besant women's  College was the Chief Guest.He conveyed his Women's day message on the occasion. Dr.Satish Kumar Shetty, Principal,was the Guest of honour. He expressed the importance of Women's role in familyand society. Felicitation function was organised to honour senior facultymember Prof.Asha Rai,HoD,Department of Homescience to enhance the significanceof Women empowerment. After the formal function interpersonal skill developmentprogramme was organised for the UG students of Sociology. The programme wasorganised by Beau Conroy Paul and team, Post Graduate Department of Corporate Psychology.The programme was well appreciated by the student community. The twiningprogramme by Department of Sociology BWC and Department of PsychologySt Aloysius College enhanced the confidence level of students.

In connection withInternational women's day celebration Faculty members and students ofDepartment of Sociology participated in the walkathon organised by JCI andNIINE as part of awareness programme about Sanitation and Mensural hygiene on8th March 2019.
