INNOVISION -2023 : Department of PG Studies in commerce

The department of PG Studies in commerce organised the prestigious INNOVASION 2023 under the sub theme “Kalpavrishka". The Innovision this year was hosted for the Undergraduate level students.

Students from Seven prominent colleges of Mangalore namely SDPT First Grade College, SDM College of Management, Dr. NSAM First Grade college, Besant Evening, Besant women’s college, Shree Devi college and Kanachur institute of management & science participated in Innovision. Participants registered themselves using Google form which was provided along with the e- brochure much ahead of the event. The inauguration ceremony was held in the college auditorium in the presence of chief guest Dr. Zeena D'Souza, Head of the department of commerce, St.Aloysius college (Autonomous), Mangaluru , Guest of honour Dr. Arjun Nayak, Assistant Secretary, WNES and President Sri. Jeevandas Narayana, Secretary, WNES. The dignitaries During unveiled the trophies during the inauguration.

Under kalpavrishka, there were 3 events. The events consisted of 4 participants. First event involved 2 rounds namely Symmetry and Martech. For round 1 : Symmetry, the participants were divided into 2 each, first 2 had to be seated in final M. Com and other 2 had to be seated in M. Com Previous. Both were given inter-related task. Team member who was seated in final M. Com had the task of solving the puzzles, from 1 puzzle, in which they had to get 4 items solved. There were 5 puzzles to be solved, altogether 20 items were hidden. Solved puzzles should be passed to other 2 member seated in previous M. Com, they had to find items with the help of clues which were provided by clue holders from different places, within 1 hour.

Second round was “Martech”, which was held at M. Com seminar hall. Where, in given one hour the participants had to create model or product out of the item or materials, that they had got from clues along with bonus material, which they had to collect within 30 seconds, then they had to present the model or product to the judges. Post lunch, second event namely Ad frenzy, was conducted which was Mad-ad, in which participants were given different products and they had to present it in the form of Mad-ad.

Subsequently, Valedictory program began in the college Auditorium. The chief guest for the program was RTN. PHF. Nandini Raghuchandra. The results were announced and trophies and certificate were given away to the winners and runners. Innovision 2023 winners were SDM college, Mangaluru and runne were Kanachur institution of management and Science, Derlakatte.
