Industrial visit to Deccan Plast, Mudipu: Department of Commerce and Business Administration

The Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Besant Women’s College organized an industrial visit for the 1st-year B.Com students to Deccan Plast, a leading manufacturer in Mudipu, on 14th September 2024. A total of 41 students participated in this educational visit, accompanied by Ms. Reshma and Ms. Vidya Bhat.

Objective of the Visit:

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the manufacturing processes, operations management, and business practices followed in the plastics Industry. It was designed to enhance their understanding of theoretical concepts learned in the classroom, particularly those related to production, supply chain management, and quality control.

Highlights of the Visit:

Upon arrival, the students were given a warm welcome by the management of Deccan Plast. A briefing session was conducted, where the company’s operations, history, and growth were introduced. The students were taken on a guided tour of the manufacturing facility, where they observed the various stages of plastic production, including raw material processing, molding, and finishing. The technical team at Deccan Plast explained the importance of quality control, sustainability, and efficient production techniques.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions about the company’s operations, challenges in the plastic industry, and the business strategies followed to maintain competitiveness in the market.
