Industrial visit to Cocoa Rich: Department of Commerce and Business Administration

The Department of Commerce and Business Administration organised an industrial visit to Cocoa Rich, a chocolate and confectionery manufacturing unit, on 24-10-2025, for students of I and II BBA. The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to modern food processing technology, quality control systems, packaging standards, and industry operations.

Objectives of the session:

  • To understand the manufacturing process of chocolate and cocoa-based products.
  • To observe the use of food safety and hygienic standards in production.
  • To gain insights into packaging, branding, and marketing strategies.
  • To connect theoretical learning with real-time industrial practices.

The visit began with a welcome session by the company executives, followed by a brief orientation on the history, mission, and product range of Cocoa Rich.

Students were divided into groups and taken through various departments, including:

  1. Raw Material Storage Unit
  2. Roasting and Grinding Section
  3. Mixing and Formulation Area
  4. Moulding and Cooling Section
  5. Packaging and Labelling Unit
  6. Quality Control Laboratory

Each section was explained in detail by the production supervisors.

Outcome of the session:

The industrial visit enriched students by:

  • Enhancing understanding of real-world industrial operations.
  • Bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practices.
  • Inspiring students to explore careers in food manufacturing, quality control, supply chain management, and marketing.
