A report on project “Income Generating Activities” by the Department of Home Science, Besant Women’s College, Mangalore.
The Besant Women’s College Mangalore had organized a sale on different items prepared by Home Science students and EDP bridge course students by the Department of Home Science on 7th July 2022 in the college auditorium as the students are pursuing a project on “Income Generating Activities”.
The items sold on “Income Generating Activities” are as follows:-
Phenyl, Soap oil, Artificial Jewellery, Masala Powder, Pani Puri, Pulav, Kashaya, Gulab Jamun, Sandwich, Churmuri, Tender Coconut Souffle, Banana toffee, Cake pops, Pickled Pinapple, Vada Pav, Pineapple Souffle and Nippat Masala

There was an organic mehandi corner where students exhibited their skill by applying mehandi. Mr. Vishal Salian, President District Small Industries Association (DSIA) (R), Yeyyadi, Mangalore and Mrs. Kusuma Devadiga, Vice President, District Small Industries Association (DSIA) (R), Yeyyadi, Mangalore have present at the occasion.
Dr. Manjula K.T. Vice President, WNES and Correspondent of Besant Women’s College, Mangalore wished the programme to be a grand success. Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty P., Principal, Besant Women’s College, Mangalore also encouraged the students by wishing the programme to be a grand success. Mrs. Haraina J. Rao and Mrs. Shanti Acharya trained the EDP skill students.
Ms. Gayathree K and Ms. Swathi M from the Home Science Department organized the programme. Students were asked to give the details of investments and the profit of their activities. People from neighbouring Laxmi College of Hotel Management and SDM College and some working women’s also visited the sale and encouraged the students.
