Inauguration of Students’ Council

Sincepast 40 years many efforts have been done for the all-round development of thewomen. As a result a conducive atmosphere for their expression has beendeveloped.  During mythological timessuperbly educated women called Brahmavadinis guided the society. But laterbecause of attacks and expeditions of outsiders protecting women became moreimportant than educating them.  Butlately the time has come where women can attain expertise in the fields oftheir interest. Now women are direct stakeholders in the progress of the worldsaid Dr. Asha Jyothi Rai, Ayurveda Practitioner and Social Women Activist. Shewas addressing the students and staff of Besant Women’s College during theinauguration of Students’ Council for this year.

Dr.Rai  said , it is ironical that, theeducated women are the ones who are enslaved by different addictions.  The empowerment is often misunderstood asimitating men.  Women can take herdecisions with the embedded beauty in her personality to make a meaningfulworld around.  The colleges must kindlethe spirit of leadership in students that helps them to serve the world theybelong to in their future, she opined.

Studentleaders Kavyashree, Kausalya Devi Himani, Nisha, Rashmitha were sworn in asPresident, Vice-President, Secretary and Joint Secretary respectively.
