Hands-on Training Session on "Power BI": Department of Secretarial Practice

The Department of Secretarial Practice, in association with IQAC, organized a hands- on training session on "Power BI" at Besant Women's College, Mangalore, on 27th March 2025 at 11:00 AM in the AV Room.

The session was conducted by Mrs. Kiran from SAN IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., who provided insights into data visualization and business intelligence. The event was attended by Dr. Praveen Kumar KC (Principal), Dr. Sathisha K (IQAC Coordinator),), Prof. Hemalatha (HoD, Secretarial Practice), Prof. Ranjini M (Coordinator), Prof. Preetha Bhandary (HoD, English), Mr. Ravinder Murthy (Department of Computer Application). Mrs. Niveditha and Ms. Jayalakshmi trainers in SAN IT Solutions were also present. Ms. Ashila Hazar of III BA delivered Welcome address and proposed Vote of Thanks.

The training covered key aspects of Power BI, enhancing students' technical skills. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the resource person and faculty.

Objectives:

To develop skills that enable students to effectively analyze, visualise and communicate data insights.
To understand the Power BI interface
To explore how Power BI integrates with other tools like Excel Outcomes:
Students can improve their ability to work with data and create effective reports.
Mastering the Power BI interface enables the students to be more efficient, productive and effective in using tool to transform data.
