Green Campus Initiative Competition: Environment Club
The Environment Club of Besant Women’s College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized the competition under the theme "Innovate Green, Sustain More." on 4th October,2024 in the auditorium at 2:30 PM.
The primary objective of the Green Campus Initiative competition was to engage students in environmental sustainability efforts and encourage them to generate innovative ideas to promote green practices within the college campus. The event aimed to enhance environmental awareness, inspire responsibility among students, and foster eco-friendly solutions that can be implemented in everyday campus activities.
A total of 7 teams participated in the competition, representing different streams such as BA, BBA, BCom, BCA, BSc, and BSc Home Science. Each team presented their unique ideas on how to make the campus more environmentally sustainable through various green initiatives.
The presentations were judged by Prof. Ranjini and Prof. Gayathri, who evaluated the participants based on the creativity, feasibility, and potential impact of their ideas for making the campus greener and more environmentally sustainable.
Ms. Shaila Kamath, the in-charge of the Environment Club, played an instrumental role in organizing the event. The students presented innovative ideas such as waste management systems, water conservation techniques, and renewable energy usage. The event raised environmental awareness among participants and the audience, creating a positive ripple effect that extended beyond the competition itself.. Dr. Praveen Kumar K. C., Principal, expressed his appreciation for the students' efforts in coming up with practical solutions to enhance campus sustainability.
