Talk on Gender Equity and Women Empowerment: Gender Champion Cell 2019-2020

On 9 March 2020, The  Student co-ordinator of GenderChampion cell of Besant Women’s college Mangaluru, Ms. Kavyashree M.A  hadorganised a  talk on “Gender Equity and Women empowerment” in MCom Seminarhall by an eminent  resource person : Dr Ramyashree M.G , AssistantProfessor and PG  co- ordinator , Department of commerce, Government first grade college and post graduate studies, Kumta , Uttarkannada.Correspondent of Besant women’s college  Sri K. Devanandha Pai , PrincipalDr. Sathish Kumar Shetty P, NAAC convenor Dr. Praveen Kumar K C , IQAC convenorMr. S . Syed Kahdar , Nodal officer Ms. Jyothsna , Gender Champion Ms.Kavyashree M.A  were present .
The resource person spoke of the origin of International Women’s day, she alsohighlighted the Impact of Digitalization on youth like increase in the usage ofmobile phones and social media apps ,  online trading . she also spoke ofthe negative usage of the digital platform by the hackers. She enlightened thestudents regarding various women related schemes made available by thegovernment.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the  Nodal officer Ms. Jyothsna,Lecturer PG studies in commerce  and the token of  gratitude wasgiven to the resource person by the HOD of PG studies Ms. Anupa Baliga.
