The inauguration ceremony for BEQUEST 2024, titled "A Quest for the Best – Erudite Extravaganza," was held at the College Auditorium, Besant Women’s College, on 13th November 2024 at 10:00 AM. This event aimed to foster intellectual pursuits and showcase academic excellence. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries:

Chief Guest: Sri. Cholpadi Devdas Kamath (Former Managing Director, Tata Refractories)

Guest of Honour: Dr. Manjula K.T. (Vice President, Women’s National Education Society; Correspondent, Besant Women’s College)

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C., the Principal of Besant Women’s College. He extended a heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries and wished all the participants the best of luck, encouraging them to give their best efforts in the competitions that lay ahead.

Prof. Ranjini introduced the Chief Guest, Sri. Cholpadi Devdas Kamath, to the august gathering, providing an overview of his accomplishments and contributions. Ms. Shobhitha T.S presented the highlights of the fest.

In his address, Sri. Cholpadi Devdas Kamath fondly recollected his childhood memories, reflecting on how India has evolved from a developing country to a technologically advanced nation. He expressed his amazement at India’s rapid technological growth and encouraged the youth to make the most of these advancements to achieve success. "Today’s youth are fortunate," he remarked, "and they should utilize technology to its fullest to reach new heights."

Dr. Manjula K.T., the Guest of Honour, offered words of encouragement to the participants of BEQUEST 2024. She urged them to make the best use of this opportunity to showcase their talents and skills.

Ms. Gayathree, Ms. Anupa Baliga (Staff Members, Students' Council), teachers from participating PU colleges, staff members and students of host college were present.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. K. Maya Kudva. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event, acknowledging the efforts of the dignitaries, organizing committee, faculty members, student council, and participants.

Ms. Ashila Hazar (Vice-President, Students' Council), was the host for this inaugural function. Ms. Deeksha Mohandas (President, Students' Council), Ms. Meghana G.Pai (Secretary), Ms. Charitha (Joint Secretary) and their team organised various competitions.

The inauguration ceremony of BEQUEST 2024 successfully set the stage for a series of events like Headstart Hustle (Treasure Hunt), Focus Trenzy(Video Juggling), Busy Bees (Multitasking), Recall Relay (Memory Test), Braniac Battle (Quiz Preliminary), Trivia Tusstle(Final Quiz) aimed at enriching the intellectual and personal growth of the students.

BEQUEST 2024 VALEDICTORY PROGRAMME

Valedictory Programme took place on the 13th of November at 2:30 PM in the College Auditorium. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Ramakrishna Udupa, Principal of St. Joseph PU College, Bajpe, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Manel Annappa Nayak, President of the Management Committee of Besant Women’s College, who presided over the ceremony.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome extended to all attendees. Prof. Anupa Baliga introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Ramakrishna Udupa, who praised the hospitality of Besant Women’s College and commended the quality of education as reflected in the demeanor and achievements of the students. He encouraged the students to make thoughtful decisions regarding their future education, highlighting the exceptional learning environment at Besant Women’s College.

In his presidential address, Mr. Manel Annappa Nayak lauded the students for organizing such a meaningful event. He urged the PU students to consider Besant Women’s College for their higher education. He assured the audience that the Management is highly supportive and committed to continuously upgrading the college facilities to offer an outstanding educational experience.

During the event, two PU students shared their thoughts and experiences about their time at Besant Women’s College. They expressed that their happiest moments at the college stemmed from the friendly atmosphere created by both the staff and fellow students.

First Prize: Parijnan PU College – ₹5000

Second Prize: BEM Aided PU College – ₹3000

Third Prize: Besant National Pre-University College – ₹2000

Prof. Shobhitha announced the winners, adding to the excitement and significance of the moment. Programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Gayathree. She expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event,
