The Annual Day Celebration was held on 13th May 2025 which marked a vibrant and memorable occasion for students, faculty, parents and guests to come together and celebrate the achievements of the institution and its students

The Chief Guest for the event, Mr. Sunil V. Patil, Deputy General Manager (Regional Head), Union Bank of India, addressed the gathering with an inspiring talk on women empowerment.

He highlighted the importance of empowering women in all spheres of life and emphasized the need for equal opportunities and representation. During his speech, Mr. Patil made a special reference to the courageous women involved in ‘Operation Sindhoor’, an operation that symbolized bravery, dedication, and patriotism.

He admired the heroic contributions of these women and mentioned their names with deep respect, acknowledging their fearless efforts and service to the nation. He encouraged the students to draw inspiration from these role models.

Mr. Patil concluded by urging the students to be brave, strong, and determined—qualities that defined the women of Operation Sindhoor. His motivational words left a lasting impact, instilling a sense of pride and responsibility among the listeners. Prof. Anupa Baliga welcomed the gathering. Mangalore University B. Sc. Home Science rank holder Shradda Narayan Shetti was honoured on the occasion. Prof. Gayathree eloquently introduced the rank holder, acknowledging her hard-earned success. Best outgoing students in academic and co-curricular were also honoured. Prize distribution segment was gracefully conducted by Prof. Raviprabha and Prof. Shobhitha T. S.

Vice President of WNES and Correspondent of Besant Women's College Dr. Manjula K. T. presided over the function. President of Women's National Education Society Shri Manel Annappa Nayak, Vice President Jeevandas Narayan, Secretary P. Suresh Pai extended their best wishes. The Principal Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C, presented the Annual Report and Secretary of Students' Council Meghana G. Pai presented Union Report. Ex-Vice President Likhitha raised the toast and Present President of Students' Council replied the toast. The programme was coordinated by Student Welfare Officer, Prof. Ranjini. Joint Secretary Charitha proposed Vote of Thanks. The programme was compered by Vice President of Students' Council Ashila Hazra. A variety of cultural performances followed.

Objectives:

  • To provide platform to recognize and celebrate the academic, cultural and sports achievements of students and faculty over the past year.
  • To provide an opportunity to acknowledge and thank faculty, staff, and students for their dedication, contribution and hard work
  • To reflect on institutional progress
  • To strengthen relationships with stakeholders

Outcomes:

  • The event reinforces a sense of pride and belonging among students, alumni, and staff strengthening the college’s culture and identity
  • Students and faculty who receive awards and recognition feel valued and motivated to continue performing well in academics, sports and extracurricular areas.
  • The presentation of the annual report and student accomplishments gives a clear picture of the college’s progress, goals and vision for the future.
