Talk on “Social skills for researchers – HIV positive patients - issues and concerns”: R&D Cell

Research and Development Department of Besant Women’s Collegeorganized a talk on “Social skills for researchers – HIV positive patients -issues and concerns” by Smt. Devika Shetty, Counsellor, Prajna CounselingCentre, Mangalore on 13th March 2019 in the college premises.  Resource person analyzed the various problemsand concerns related to HIV positive patients through her experiential learningprocess. She enumerated number of cases and explained how the students in theage group of 12 to 30 years are vulnerable to the disease due to unsecuredsexual relationship. She cautioned the students to have sexual education andawareness to eradicate the problems.  Shealso answered the student queries meticulously and explained how the socialskills should be imbibed and inculcated by the students by interacting with themarginalized and disadvantage section of the society, quoting her ownexperience with tribals and HIV positive patients.
