Student Union Inauguration: 2019-2020

Theleadership qualities must be developed in the student hood and planning for thefuture life must happen then itself. Student leaders must shoulder the responsibility of betterment of fellowstudents, Founder Director of Social Work Organization ‘White Doves’ advisedMrs. Corrine Rasquinha, she was addressing the students of Besant Women’sCollege after inaugurating the newly elected student union yesterday(17-07-2019, Wednesday). Being in the team utilizing the opportunities tofulfill the preset goals through proper planning is a great leadershipquality.  Hence, the newly electedstudent leaders must not waste the valuable votes and faith the other studentshave retained in them, she opined.

WNES, Secretary and Correspondent of thecollege Sri. K. Devanand Pai, wishing the new student cabinet well saidself-less service is the hallmark of true leadership, if students developleadership qualities, they can emerge as good state level or national levelleaders in future.  WNES president Sri.Kudpi Jagadeesh Shenoy and Vice-President Sri. Manel Annappa Nayak werepresent.

StudentUnion office bearers took oath on the occasion.  Swathi Rao as President,Vaishnavi N. as Vice President, Shilpa  asSecretary and Dhanyashree as Joint Secretary were sworn inrespectively. Principal Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty P., welcomed and administeredthe oath.  Student Welfare Officer Prof.Meera Edna Coelho introduced the guest. Prof.Krishnananda Shenoy P., Dean. Humanities, Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C. Dean,Dept. ofCommerce, Prof. Gopalakrishna Raiker, Dean, Dept. of Science and Prof. PreethaBhandary, Dean, Language Departments congratulated the new students’ council. StudentAfsa compeered. Student President Swathi Rao thanked.  Cultural programmes followed.
